Pooh & The Inspirations is an American traditional gospel music quartet.
Pooh and The Inspirations are a Billboard charting, Stellar Award, Texas Gospel Music Excellence Award (TGMEA, Soul Train Music Award nominated and Chosen Voice Awards winning gospel recording group from Tampa, FL, and are regarded as the sons of gospel in the genre of black quartet gospel music. The band is signed to Veca Records under the direction of Creed Warner. The group is managed by The Madizon Jones Group and industry veteran, Mimi Jones.
The group was founded as Pooh & The Young Inspirations in 2002 by T. Pooh McClary. The original members of the band were T. Pooh McClary, Nate House, J. Floyd, and Jermaine Smith. Today, the group is still lead by Pooh McClary, and consists of Jermaine Smith, Ciscero Carr, Marlo Kelly, Gene Aikens, and Andrew Holder. The group has since dropped “Young” from their moniker and now goes as Pooh and the Inspirations. Pooh McClary is the younger cousin of legendary Motown singer/songwriter, Thomas McClary, co-founder of The Commodores, who has written hit songs such as Brickhouse. Pooh started the band and has remained a strong spiritual advisor and the primary songwriter for the group; Pooh also writes for other gospel artist such as Stellar Award Winner, Paul Porter. This talented musical genius has enjoyed much success with sold out performances and high demand for their music.
