Victor became born again 1989. Started his musical journey same year and started climbing the ladder of his music career. In 1991, he became the travelling secretary to the Youth Intercessors of the Christian Youth Fellowship of Church of God Mission Int’l and by 1993, became the State Coordinator. In 1992, he alongside his prayer team opened the Eki-Uwa branch of the Church and pastured it for one year until his head pastor summoned him to come back to town to continue with the responsibility of worship leading which he was undeniably anointed to do.
After he came home, the worship pattern of the home church was revived again as worshipers looked forward to a time with God in CGMi – Upper Mission Branch in Benin City. In 1994, he won the Award as the best vocalist of the Year as well as that of the following year 1995. This led to his transfer to the Church’s headquarters Faith Arena, the seat of the Archbishop Benson Idahosa where he worked as a staff of the ministry’s international administrative office and as well as his personal psalmist traveling from place to place together from 1996 to the home call of the Archbishop in 1998.
While in Faith Arena, he served as Worship Leader, Music Director/Pastor Under Archbishop M.E. Idahosa for several years and became ordained into the Ministry as an Ordained Reverend in CGMi in 2006 where he whole heartedly disposed his responsibilities until he was duly released to start the rave of the moment in the City of Benin ‘Simply Worship Int’l Ministry’ – The Glorious House in 2012.
He was the voice trainer and therapist at the Gospel Music College for years and now is the Lecturer, Voice therapist and Rector of Paradigm Academy of Music in Benin City.
Rev. Victor Atenaga, hosts one of the largest annual worship event in Nigeria at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City (Simply Worship). He organizes worship and healing meetings across the country.
He is a Voice therapist, Trainer, conference speaker, Pastor, song writer, producer and arranger. He has written songs like, “You will win”, “I’ll never find another lover”, “Majesty”, “Oh Lord my God I exalt you”, “Teach me your ways”, “Thou art Worthy”, “God is a Miracle Worker”, “Hiding Place” to mention but a few.
Having proposed and shared platforms with Marvin Winnans, Phil Driscol, Jaci Velazquez, Lionel Petersen, Alvin Slaughter and other great foreign and local Artists he ceaselessly prefer to be called a Simple Worshiper.
He is the Author of wonderful books like, Answers on how best to use your voice, Understanding the Priesthood of the Psalmist, Worship and the Miraculous and The Miraculous Acts of Praise
He is an Award winner and International Worshiper and Senior Pastor of a fast growing church.
Married to Vivian Atenaga and they are both blessed with 3- girls; Drucilla-zelig, Rovwe and Manuel and they reside in the City of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria – West Africa.
